🏌️ How to Play Tee Whiz
Tee Whiz is a Wordle-style guessing game where you identify professional golfers from short silhouette swing videos. Watch, guess, and use the bio grid feedback to narrow down who's swinging!
- Watch the swing clip carefully.
- Guess the golfer (6 guesses total).
- Read the colored tiles: Green = exact, Yellow = close, Gray = no match.
- Use "Take a Stroke" when you're down to 2–3 likely candidates.
📖 Core Gameplay
- Watch the silhouette swing – Observe stance, grip, tempo, and follow-through for identifying clues.
- Type your guess – Select from the active PGA golfer list in the autocomplete dropdown.
- Check the grid – Your guess adds a row showing 7 bio attributes with color-coded feedback.
- Interpret the colors – Use green/yellow/gray clues to narrow down your remaining guesses (6 total per round).
- Guess the golfer – Identify the correct player before running out of guesses!
🎯 Understanding the Bio Grid
Each guess reveals a row in the grid with these 7 fields:
Name | Country | Age | Turned Pro | College | Career Wins | World Rank (OWGR)
🟩 Tile Color Meanings
- ● Green: Exact match. The value is correct!
- ● Yellow: Close match. For numbers (Age, Wins, Rank), the actual value is within ±4.
- ● Gray: No match. The value doesn't match; eliminate similar candidates.
💡 Using "Take a Stroke"
The "Take a Stroke" button reveals ONE bio field without requiring a guess. It still counts as a guess penalty.
Easy Mode: Up to 5 "take a stroke" hints per round
Hard Mode: Only 1 "take a stroke" hint per round

🎯 Strategy Tips
- Watch multiple times: Pay attention to stance width, follow-through height, and tempo. These are often distinctive.
- Use geography: Country is a strong filter — certain players are clustered by region.
- Note age ranges: Green on Age eliminates entire generations of players.
- Save strokes strategically: Use "Take a Stroke" when you're down to 2-3 likely candidates, not on your first guess.
- Career trajectory matters: Wins and Rank often correlate — a high-ranked player usually has significant wins.
- Learn the roster: In Easy mode with a smaller pool, you'll start recognizing patterns quickly.
